If you're a long-time Rockstar fan, there's no question you remember as being one of the studio's most iconic and beloved, albeit extremely controversial games. Believe it or not, Bully officially turns 20 years old this year, and despite there being countless rumors over the years about a potential remake for modern consoles, it hasn't happened just yet.

To date, Bully has only received remastered versions or various ports over the years for new consoles, but fans on have united around the need for an official top-to-bottom remake of Rockstar's legendary open-world adventure game.

Bully Fans Agree On Official Remake

If you've been a fan of Bully from the very beginning, you've probably been wondering if Rockstar has any plans for a major remake at any point this year, given the game hitting its 20th anniversary in 2026. Unfortunately, there's still no word from Rockstar about an official Bully remake or , despite fans hoping against hope that there's something secretly in the works.

Players such as on Reddit have pointed out that, despite not playing the game for "decades now ... it was pretty damn good on the ps2 back in the day, [and] definitely deserves a remake." agree that "a remake would be great" to celebrate the game's 20th anniversary, though it doesn't seem likely given Rockstar has a little game called in the works for a November 2026 release.

However, while GTA 6 is clearly a major focus for Rockstar this year and all other projects are likely to take a serious back seat until after its release, there's still hope among fans that an official Bully remake or sequel could happen, even if it's not in 2026.

Hard To Believe Bully Turns 20 This Year

Bully first launched to fan and critical acclaim back in 2006 for the PlayStation 2, with an official Xbox, PC, and Wii U port with the Scholarship Edition back in 2008. There was also an official Anniversary Edition that released for mobile back in 2016, and the game also got a PS4 port this same year, though this was not technically the same as the Anniversary Edition and didn't serve as a proper remaster or remake.

Ultimately, fans of Bully would love to see a dedicated sequel from Rockstar that would bring the experience into the modern world, but that seems increasingly unlikely given Rockstar's other successful and popular IPs that would likely take precedence. A current or next-gen remake would be equally exciting and may be slightly more probable, but at the end of the day, Rockstar hasn't indicated that any such project is officially in the works.
