During CinemaCon, Paramount revealed a trailer for the upcoming epic fantasy adaptation of the 2018 novel written by Tomi Adeyemi titled Children of Blood and Bone. "Ever since I was a child, my mother spoke of a great power that once brought peace to the land, but one fateful night, they took it from us."
The movie is set in a fantasy kingdom in Africa named Orïsha as a young woman (played by Mbedu) goes on a quest to try and reclaim magic that was stolen from her people. Her brother (played by Tosin Cole) joins her on the quest with the daughter and son of the king to fight back against the regime. Hall: "Black girls deserve to see themselves in worlds of wonder, power, and imagination."
Prince-Bythewood: "I’m honored to bring this incredible best-selling fantasy book to life."
