A new 6.6 leak has revealed the gameplay kit for Nicole, a new playable character whose arrival has already been confirmed by developer HoYoverse. The popular action RPG has just recently entered Version 6.5, an important patch that is introducing a lore-heavy region, called Dornman Port, to the playable map. The also brought forth the possibility of pulling for Linnea, a new Geo support and sub-DPS capable of dealing loads of damage and even healing allies.

The character is also a new best-in-slot companion for , since Linnea works around improving Lunar-Crystallize DMG. While there is still a lot to see within Version 6.5, the playtests for the next update have started, and with them, leaks have started to pour in. The leaked information for Version 6.6 details the three new characters that have been confirmed for the upcoming patch, as well as new gear and details about the Archon Quest, which will introduce a new weekly boss.

One of the most noteworthy aspects of these leaks is the complete gameplay kit for Nicole in Version 6.6, who had already been confirmed as a . The leaks have been widespread across the community, but they have been compiled and organized on . The hub highlights details like her active skills, her passive abilities, and even more.

It is worth noting that these leaks represent the latest iteration of the character seen in the beta tests. This means that her abilities and, especially, her modifiers are still heavily subject to change, as HoYoverse tweaks Nicole’s performance leading up to her release. Even so, the leaks can already provide some insight into how strong this may actually be.

Nicole May Become The Best Shielder Option

The New Genshin Impact Character Uses Pyro

According to her leaked kit, Nicole is a 5-star Pyro character who uses a catalyst in combat. Her Normal and Charged Attacks follow the same standard for most catalyst users. However, her Elemental Skill sets her apart. With her Skill, Nicole bestows Grace of Kenosis upon all nearby party members. This buff increases their ATK stat and deals AoE Pyro DMG, while also creating a Shield of Blazing Light.

The shield that Nicole creates scales on her ATK and has immense damage absorption potential, while also lasting a whopping 20 seconds. This may make Nicole a great shielder like . Given the fact that all of Nicole’s main abilities scale on her ATK, it should be easy to make her shield extraordinarily strong, making her a viable non-Geo shielder for the party. This, however, is not the end of her usefulness.

Genshin Impact Leaks Hint At Nicole As Unskippable

The Hexenzirkel Witch May Have Powerful Abilities To Offer

The leaks also show that with her Burst, Nicole deals AoE Pyro DMG, switching her into the Silent Contemplation mode. In this mode, when nearby party members hit an opponent, Nicole launches a Coordinated Attack against the enemy via an Arcane Projection, dealing AoE Elemental DMG based on the character’s element. The DMG scales based on the corresponding character’s ATK, so she’ll work well with DPS who scale on ATK, like .

While this is a summary of her active abilities, her Passive Skills also play a huge role in her kit. According to the leaks, one of Nicole’s passives, Nepsis, helps you encounter treasure in the overworld. Outside of the exploration benefits she gains, another passive significantly helps her improve the team’s performance.

Her second Passive Skill, called Methexis, Nicole will observe the active character in the party after unleashing her Elemental Skill for 20 seconds (the same duration of the shield). If the observed character remains on the field for three seconds, the Grace of Kenosis buff is upgraded to Guidance of Theosis, which increases the ATK buff she provides by an extra amount. If the observed character is of the Hexerei faction, like , the upgrade happens immediately.

Nicole has another means of upgrading the Grace of Kenosis buff to Guidance of Theosis. With her third passive, Philokalia, when an active party member deals Elemental DMG, the upgrade is triggered for eight seconds. This means that on a swap and an attack that deals Elemental DMG, you can automatically get the biggest buff this portion of her kit can offer.

Her fourth and final Passive Skill, Witch’s Eve Rite: Light in the Darkness, revolves around the Hexerei mechanics. After completing the quest to unlock it, the ability will start working. When it is activated by the presence of two Hexerei characters in the party (Nicole counts as one), Nicole increases the DMG dealt by the Astral Projections triggered Hexerei characters by a high percentage of her ATK stat.

This means that Nicole will work best when working alongside Hexerei characters. This contemplates the aforementioned Varka and Durin, but also includes characters like Fischl, Mona, Faruzan, and – the last of whom got a significant buff that allows him to double as a DPS or a sub-DPS.

Based on what has leaked so far, Nicole may prove to be an indispensable support for Hexerei teams, especially those led by Venti, for example, who has a terrible resistance to interruption. Her shield would help circumvent that. Apart from aiding characters from this faction, Nicole could potentially work well with other characters too, especially given her status as a Pyro shielder.

There will likely still be a lot of changes to her kit, and there are a few complaints regarding her rotation, as seen in the comments on a post on . However, it does seem like Nicole is shaping up to be an unskippable character in Genshin Impact.
