The 's Magneto just unleashed one of his most striking attacks against the strongest and most durable of the Avengers, the X-Men, and the Fantastic Four's enemies in recent times. Magneto himself has often stood his ground against dozens of Marvel heroes, only admitting defeat because using his full power would be detrimental to his goals and his ideals. The rest of the time, Magneto is joining forces with the X-Men to fight antagonists with darker morals than him.
Besides the usual villains who have threatened the world and the universe in Marvel's main continuity, a wide variety of characters have threatened all of existence in alternate timelines. The undead completely took over in Marvel Zombies, King Thanos conquered in Thanos Wins, , and the Sentinels subjugated mutantkind and humankind in Days of Future Past. Sometimes, the heroes have no chance against these antagonists, such as in Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe and Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe.
One of the most destructive alternate-universe antagonists in Marvel Comics lore is Godzilla, who recently cemented himself as a truly unstoppable force in and Godzilla: Infinity Roar. Dozens of Marvel's biggest powerhouses have failed to make a dent in Godzilla's hide, and it's only a matter of time until the last Marvel character is stomped by the King of the Monsters' feet.

Magneto may not be the strongest opponent Godzilla has faced in the Marvel Universe, but he doesn't hesitate to confront the kaiju. In Godzilla: Infinity Roar #4 (via ), Magneto weaponizes an asteroid field, turning the space rocks into bullets he shoots towards Godzilla. Surprisingly, Magneto manages to draw blood, and he prepares to push Godzilla into Arakko with a barrage of asteroids that visibly hurt the King of the Monsters.

But what I do best isn’t very nice.” You’re the fierce loner who acts first and philosophises later — but beneath that adamantium-plated exterior beats a heart that cares far more than you’d ever admit. You’ve been burned enough times to distrust the world, so you keep people at arm’s length, yet you’d throw yourself into any fight to protect the ones who slip past your defences. You don’t need a cause or a manifesto — you just need someone worth fighting for. Like Logan, your greatest strength isn’t your claws or your healing factor; it’s the stubborn refusal to let the people you love face danger alone. Fierce Protective Resilient Untamed 🧠 Professor X (Charles Xavier) “Just because someone stumbles and loses their path, doesn’t mean they’re lost forever.” You’re the visionary who sees the best in everyone — even when the world gives you every reason not to. Your greatest power isn’t telepathy; it’s an unshakeable belief that understanding and compassion can bridge any divide. You lead not through force but through hope, building bridges where others build walls. Some call you naive, but you know that real strength lies in extending a hand to your enemy. Like Charles Xavier, you carry the weight of a dream that most consider impossible, and you refuse to let it die. Visionary Empathetic Diplomatic Hopeful 🧲 Magneto (Erik Lehnsherr) “Peace was never an option.” You’re the survivor who learned the hardest lesson life has to offer: the world will not protect you, so you must protect yourself. Your conviction is unbreakable and your patience is terrifying — you’ll wait years to set the right plan in motion. You don’t hate humanity; you simply refuse to let your people be victims ever again. Every action you take, no matter how ruthless, is driven by a profound love for those who share your struggle. Like Erik Lehnsherr, you are both revolutionary and tragic — a leader forged in pain who will bend the world before it bends you. Resolute Strategic Ruthless Unyielding ↻ PLAY AGAIN
The Master of Magnetism has already manipulated asteroids in the past, notably to create Asteroid M. However, wielding space rocks like a string of projectiles is unprecedented. This technique is almost exactly what Magneto regularly does with small steel balls, which he carries around and floats around his hand before shooting them at his enemies, often with enough force to kill them immediately. Only this time, they're hundreds or thousands of feet across.
Magneto Is Naturally Much More Powerful Than He Seems
Magneto Can Do More Than Manipulate Metal On Earth
The lies far beyond the simple manipulation of metal, as he governs the fundamental electromagnetic force that binds reality together. His mutation allows him to perceive and influence the entire electromagnetic spectrum, including visible light, radio waves, and ultraviolet radiation. This mastery grants him a geomagnetic link to the Earth itself, which makes him instinctively aware of every flux in Earth’s magnetic field. Magneto can generate immense EMPs and create near-impenetrable force fields that withstand nuclear detonations.
Magneto's control is so refined that he can influence non-metallic objects by vibrating their atoms or manipulating the trace iron ores hidden within deep geological layers. He can manipulate asteroids in space by anchoring himself to their metallic cores or by projecting magnetic fields across the vacuum. Even celestial bodies possess magnetic signatures that Magneto can tether his power to. On a planetary scale, he has successfully reversed the Earth’s magnetic poles and repositioned dozens of orbital satellites simultaneously to hold the world’s governments hostage.

Perhaps the most chilling demonstration of his power is his bio-magnetic control over living organisms, which allows him to manipulate the biological processes of his enemies and himself. Since human blood contains iron, Magneto can induce strokes, cause paralysis, or reverse a person’s blood flow with a mere thought. In one of his most incredible displays of willpower and physiological mastery, Magneto forced his blood to circulate through his veins when his heart stopped, keeping himself alive through pure magnetic command. Weaponizing multiple asteroids is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Magneto's powers.
