Marvel has revealed the new trailer, and it shows that Chris Evans' Steve Rogers will have a surprising look in the film. After years of saying he would not come back, Evans is finally back in the as Captain America. While it is true that he rejoined the franchise before that, his 2026 return was different.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, he played a version of Johnny Storm, the Marvel hero he gave life to in two Fantastic Four movies. Now, Evans is firmly back in the MCU as Steve Rogers, with the reveal coming in the that played in theaters with Disney's Avatar: Fire and Ash. The footage showed Steve putting away his Captain America suit.

As such, it was clear that he would have a different look going into the 2026 MCU movie. Additionally, the Avengers: Doomsday teaser revealed that Steve and Hayley Atwell's Peggy Carter had a baby. In that movie, Steve was on the run with his own Avengers team, which included characters like Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes, and Black Widow. Perhaps the same could be happening now, only with some multiverse-hopping going on.

Why Chris Evans' Steve Rogers Looks Different In Avengers: Doomsday's Teaser And Trailer

The easy answer as to why Steve looks different in the new Avengers: Doomsday trailer in relation to the movie's first teaser is that Marvel should be doing a time jump between the two.
