Launching back in 2026 as the first installments in the ninth generation of , takes players to the Paldea Region, and unlike previous Pokémon entries, this one included the first use of a vast open world map. Alongside the introduction of over 120+ brand-new Pokémon, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet also added two new regional forms as well as time-displaced creatures known as Paradox Pokémon. Additionally, it also introduced the Terastal phenomenon, allowing Pokémon to transform into a brand-new "Tera Type".

As part of Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet 7-star Tera Raid Battles, Emboar is back as the Mega Fire Pig Pokémon returns to the black Tera Raid crystals from Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. PDT to Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. At this limited-time event, Emboar will be sporting Electric as its Tera Type making them quite the formidable foe. Not only that, but with the Mightiest Mark to prove just how strong they are, Trainers will have to work together with friends to defeat them.
To start a Tera Raid with a Tera Pokémon, all you have to do is approach the sparkling pillar of light beaming from the Tera Raid crystal. However, to find the Tera Pokémon, in this case Emboar, you will have to download the latest Poké Portal News. To do this:
- Select Poké Portal in the X menu.
- Select Mystery Gift.
- Select Check Poké Portal News.
In order to face Emboar, players have two options: complete the post-game events that follow the main story, or join a 7-star Tera Raid Battle hosted by a Trainer who has completed those events. It may seem like a lot of hassle, but completing this brand-new Tera Raid will bag you a large amount of XP, as well as candy to level up your Pokémon, treasures to sell at Pokémon Centers, and even Electric Tera Shards for changing your Pokémon’s Tera Type.
