is the most exciting project on the horizon for Pokémon fans, but the latest news isn't what anyone was wanting to hear. While the at the Pokémon Day showcase in February, things have been mostly quiet since, as Winds and Waves aren't set to arrive until 2027.
Even so, a year's time leaves plenty of room for a steady drip-feed of information, especially with crucial details like the name of the games' region left unaddressed. Unfortunately, an apparently reliable source has now suggested that the wait for any more information will be a long one.
Winds & Waves Info Could Be Far Away
On X, claimed that the source behind previous Pokémon Winds and Waves leaks, including the , has now said that "we won't have more news about the games until 2027." While it was previously confirmed that the games wouldn't release until 2027, there was still hope that more news would arrive this year ahead of the 2027 launch.
In response to a skeptical reply, clarified that "this person has literally a 100% track record," suggesting that the validity of this information shouldn't be doubted. A later reply includes corroboration from another leaker, BallGuy. BallGuy doesn't have the same 100% reliability as the other source, but a second source still adds another layer of authenticity to the claim.
Gen 10 Starts In 2027
Unsurprisingly, most fans in the replies don't seem to be particularly happy about this information. shared a screenshot of Pokémon X and Y's Lysandre crying over "Pokémon," which sums up how a lot of the community may currently be feeling. On the other hand, sees the update as a good thing, saying "Good. Let it be full of surprises."
Aside from the potential boredom of spending 2026 without any further news, the lack of updates this year also suggests that the games might not be releasing until well into 2027. It makes sense that might want to focus on other product marketing cycles during 2026, but if Pokémon Winds and Waves was going to debut in the first few months of 2027, more information would presumably be shared ahead of time.

For now, fans will just have to keep poring over the Pokémon Winds and Waves reveal trailer, although the likelihood of finding any other Easter eggs or teases in the material is increasingly slim. If that's not enough to keep the community occupied, the well-received Pokémon Pokopia and much more divisive Pokémon Champions are two recent spin-offs with their own charms. This won't be the first time that Pokémon has revealed games before a long period of radio silence, but it never gets any easier.
