Goggins is an Alabama-born character actor who moved to Los Angeles at 19, where he built up experience throughout his twenties (including appearing in small roles in Joy Ride, The Bourne Identity, and a 1992 episode of Beverly Hills, 90210) before landing his first major television role as Detective Shane Vendrell in The Shield, who he played for all seven seasons of the hit 2002 series. There have been numerous celebrated since then, including Justified, Vice Principals, The Righteous Gemstones, The White Lotus (season 3), and Fallout, which have collectively earned him three Emmy nominations.

has announced that Predators will be joining the library of the free, ad-supported streaming service on May 1. Previously, the movie was only available on the subscription-based platform Hulu (which is owned by Disney, which also owns the movie's distributor, 20th Century Studios). The original 1987 classic Predator and its 1990 sequel Predator 2 are also available on the platform at the time of writing, meaning the platform will have collected the first three installments of the flagship franchise as of May 1 (the other two installments in the franchise pre-2010 were crossovers with the Alien franchise).
While Predators will be one of the biggest Walton Goggins movies on the platform, Tubi's library already includes 11 other titles featuring the actor, including The Shield, The Crow: Salvation, Machete Kills (in which he also co-stars with Danny Trejo), and the Academy Award-winning 2001 short film The Accountant.
Predators could be arriving on free streaming at the perfect time. While it was a theatrical hit, the movie has not performed quite as well on the review aggregator platform Rotten Tomatoes, where it has a middling 65% score from critics and a downright Rotten 52% score from audiences.

However, the movie is well-positioned to take advantage of several factors in order to draw a broader, and potentially more appreciative, audience in the modern era. First, the has grown much more robust since 2010. Although 2018's The Predator was a critical misstep, earning a 34% Rotten Tomatoes score, director Dan Trachtenberg has helmed a trio of well-regarded installments that have helped resurrect the series, namely the 2026 prequel Prey, the 2026 standalone sequel Predator: Badlands, and the same year's animated spinoff movie Predator: Killer of Killers.
Additionally, Walton Goggins' star has only risen since the original release of Predators, thanks to his increasingly prominent television roles, particularly in Fallout (where he plays the memorable noseless character The Ghoul).
