A new on that feels like a mix between Final Fantasy and Animal Crossing can now be played for free, and fans of either of the games will want to check it out. The RPG in question is called Sunny Trails. Developed and published by Plot Interactive, Sunny Trails is a turn-based RPG that seems to draw loose . The big twist is that this is described as a cozy RPG. As such, you can expect “gentle but deep challenges” in combat, adorned by an outstanding cartoon-like art style that instantly grabs your attention.

Another important aspect of Sunny Trails is its cozy-adjacent gameplay activities, which see you interacting with villagers in a magical recreation of the island of Florianópolis in Brazil. You can also fish, cook, collect items, set up a camp, and more while playing the game. These cozy life sim options are where it seemingly draws . Its art style and quirkiness are slightly reminiscent of Adventure Time, too.

Despite its similarities with other IPs, Sunny Trails does retain an identity of its own. In the game, you’ll follow the story of three Japanese goddesses, namely Amaterasu, Susanoo, and Tsukuyomi, who travel to the aforementioned Florianópolis for a global deities celebration. The location is prepared for the festivities, but the guests are missing, having seemingly been transformed to stone.
