confirms a major theory.
Daredevil: Born Again season 2 follows Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock as he assembles an army to fight Vincent D'Onofrio's Kingpin from the shadows and retake New York City from Mayor Fisk. To do so, he has had help from characters like Karen Page and Jack Duquesne, aka Swordsman, with at least the star of another set to join him.
That would be Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, who has yet to appear in the Marvel series. Ahead of the major making her debut, Marvel continues to show snippets of Jessica's role in trailers. However, nobody could be ready for the shocking reveal the latest footage would bring.
Marvel just released a new Daredevil: Born Again season 2 trailer that confirms Jessica Jones is a mother and ends with the first footage of Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle in The Punisher: One Last Kill.
In the Marvel series' midseason trailer, Jessica says, "They showed up at my house with my daughter there." The MCU hero's daughter does not appear in the footage. Elsewhere, Wilson Bethel's Bullseye can be seen in a bloody fight sequence at a diner. Jon Bernthal's Punisher also debuts a new look and shoots at the camera in The Punisher: One Last Kill, which releases on Disney+ on May 12.
Despite his appearance in the Daredevil: Born Again season 2 trailer, fans should not expect Bernthal's Punisher in the Marvel series' new season. Aside from the footage's voiceover clearly separating the Daredevil shots from the new look at Frank Castle, .
The actor was busy shooting Punisher's new solo adventure in his own Disney+ Special Presentation, The Punisher: One Last Kill, and opposite Tom Holland's Peter Parker in July's Spider-Man: No Way Home. The Punisher will look different in his solo project, with a full beard and a bright white skull logo on his vest. In the Spider-Man movie, Frank has a faded skull logo and stubble.
As for Jessica Jones, the new Daredevil: Born Again season 2 trailer completely reframes the character in the MCU. For most of her solo series, the Marvel hero was thought of as a lone wolf and sometimes reckless PI. Now, Jessica has a new role, being a mother, which could completely change how she behaves now that she has to take care of someone else.
In Marvel Comics, Jessica Jones famously has a daughter, Danielle, with none other than Luke Cage. Recently, to the MCU, with Netflix's The Defenders Saga stars Mike Colter and Finn Jones reprising their characters. As such, the MCU could be borrowing a page from the comics for Jessica's storyline in Daredevil: Born Again.
