is arriving sooner than expected.

Directed by Sébastien Vanicek, the upcoming installment in the long-running horror franchise follows the release of Evil Dead Rise in 2026. No official have been released just yet, but the film was previously slated to hit theaters on July 24.

A new trailer for the Evil Dead film is now screening ahead of showings of Lee Cronin's The Mummy, and it features a new release date of July 10, 2026, meaning the film will be arriving two weeks earlier. Warner Bros. confirmed the new release date to ScreenRant.

The release date change follows the first teaser screening at CinemaCon earlier this week, for which ScreenRant was in attendance. The trailer playing in front of The Mummy is different from what was shown to CinemaCon attendees, but both feature plenty of Deadites and scares. A description of the is included below:

"A woman opens the dishwasher then hears a bang. She goes in the next room and sees Alice, and then a man panting heavily after coming through the front door. A knock on the door appears. They open it. It's someone walking in, missing fingers and dripping blood onto the carpet. A pan up to her face shows a car headrest through the Deadite's face; she takes it out.

We then see the classic Evil Dead book, followed by flashes of monsters and fighting. Someone off-screen says that the “whole family can be reunited” with the help of the book. The character with the headrest then picks up a burning candle and drinks it. The panting man falls on the cutlery in the dishwasher and the woman pushes him deeper onto the knives and forks."

The latest trailer is even more action-packed, featuring a woman waking up after a head injury and attempting to crawl to safety as Deadites crash onto the floor all around her. The trailer ends as she takes cover behind a staircase in a house now infested with bloodthirsty Deadites.

In keeping with the , Burn does not bring back any existing characters from previous installments in the franchise, choosing instead to tell a new story with some fresh faces. Among those starring in the new film are Souheila Yacoub, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Victory Ndukwe, Tandi Wright, and Erroll Shand.

Evil Dead Burn's shift forward on the Warner Bros.' calendar means it will now be arriving on the same date as Disney's live-action Moana remake and Sony's Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity Sex Pass. Neither of these films are likely to be major competition, however, as they will all be targeting different audiences.

is the major release of the summer, arriving on July 17. Though the R-rated Evil Dead Burn and Nolan's upcoming historical epic have little in common, the latter is expected to be a major performer after the massive success of Oppenheimer. By moving up two weeks, Burn will now enjoy one solid week of theatrical play before The Odyssey arrives.

Now that Evil Dead Burn trailers are playing exclusively in front of The Mummy, it may only be a matter of time before Warner Bros. officially releases one online. With the July 10 release date fast approaching, marketing for the violent horror flick is likely about to kick into high gear.
