Over on Twitter/X, the official Bethesda Game Studios confirmed that both Fallout 4 and are on the way to the Switch 2, via their respective Anniversary Editions. In even better news, you don't have to wait to get them, with both the physical code-in-box edition and digital versions available right now.

It's worth taking a moment to point out that the "physical code-in-box edition" is going to be a bit controversial in its own right. As someone who collects physical games for all platforms, it's just as much the appeal of having the cartridge or disc as it is a box, and it's difficult to see what the point of this version that toes the line between digital and physical is.

At the same time, the responses to the original post are filled with players who simply want a new Bethesda game to play, and they aren't happy that the developer keeps bringing out fresh versions of older releases.

"I'm begging gamers. Please stop re-buying the same game you've already bought once. If these companies can't figure out how to make new things, they deserve to die," one response .

The fact does remain that Bethesda really does need to get a wiggle on with a new game if they want fans to stop being annoyed with them every time they talk about something else. The Elder Scrolls VI is next on the table though, so Fallout fans are going to have to sit tight for a while longer yet.
