Gina Carano's firing from The Mandalorian sparked major controversy, and at the time of her wrongful termination lawsuit against Lucasfilm, one of her demands was that she return as Cara Dune – a request that seemed unlikely then but now appears to be back on the table.
After Carano's firing, Cara Dune was written out of The Mandalorian, despite being set up as a key supporting character. There were also reports that she was set to lead her own spinoff, , which was canceled after her firing.
