Jennifer loves TV, especially science fiction. She also loves late-night talk shows, due to her insomnia. Alien: Earth is definitely one of her favorite shows, and she jumps on any chance she gets to write about it. Even on her days off, she will claim an Alien Earth article if one is available.

Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon are two of her favorite late-night hosts, and Conan O'Brien before he left his show.

Her Alien: Earth coverage for ScreenRant is by far the work that she is most proud of so far.

She was initially a finance and political editor, but her passion for pop culture convinced her to transition into entertainment journalism.

During her off time, she loves to binge-watch cooking shows such as Kitchen Nightmares. Jennifer also loves spending time with her daughter and cherishes every moment of it. follow Follow followed Followed Like Like Log in Here is a fact-based summary of the story contents: Try something different: Show me the facts Explain it like I’m 5 Give me a lighthearted recap

The battle has already begun.

Michael B. Jordan is fresh off his Oscar win for Sinners, and he's already lining up a slew of projects, including a new Miami Vice movie directed by Joseph Kosinski and also starring Austin Butler. Jordan has proven to be a box office draw as well as a formidable actor, and his Best Actor win gives him the pick of the litter. He has set his sights on an adaptation of the video game franchise . Set to be directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who helmed the last four Mission: Impossible films, little is known about the project so far, but a battle over where it will end up has already begun.

Five studios are reportedly in the midst of a major bidding war for Jordan and McQuarrie's Battlefield movie, per The Wrap. Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery, Sony, Amazon MGM Studios, and Universal have all submitted bids for the package.

Battlefield is a military-themed first-person shooter video game created by Battlefield Studios, developed by the Swedish company DICE and published by Electronic Arts. It is best known for its strong presence among online multiplayer community, featuring expansive maps and a focus on teamwork and coordinated combat across different military units.

The franchise began with . The game was initially released on Microsoft Windows and OS X. As of November 2026, the series has achieved global sales of 88.7 million copies.

Battlefield is critically acclaimed for its massive online multiplayer combat, typically pitting two opposing military teams against each other. However, , deviated from the usual setting. The game transitions from warfare to police special units and organized crime, where the players can either play as cops or the criminals they're chasing.

The current bidding war between Netflix, Warner Bros. Discovery, Sony, Amazon MGM Studios, and Universal isn't the first time studios have attempted to develop the popular video game franchise for the screen. In 2012, Fox announced that it had plans to make a Battlefield TV series. The show would have been based on Battlefield: Bad Company. However, the studio's plans fell through, and the project was dropped completely.

In July 2016, Paramount Television stated that it would be developing a series. Unfortunately, like Fox, nothing came of its plans to adapt the video game either.

The entertainment industry has seen a surge in popularity of video game adaptations in recent years. Aside from Battlefield, several other projects are in development, such as . The film is co-written and directed by Weapons creator Zach Cregger. It will star Austin Abrams, Zach Cherry, Kali Reis, and Paul Walter Hauser. The upcoming movie will be the second reboot of the Resident Evil films and the eighth installment of the franchise.

There are currently no official plans for a new Battlefield project at the time of this article's publication.
