The show's official X account on Tuesday to share the exciting news that King of the Hill is returning to Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for season 15 on July 20.
"Pull up a lawn chair and crack open an alamo. #KingOfTheHill returns JULY 20 on @hulu and Hulu on Disney+," the tweet read, alongside the signature image of the King of the Hill crew congregating in front of the alleyway behind their homes for a beer.
Season 15 will have 10 all-new episodes, with the show's July premiere date coming almost a year after King of the Hill season 14, the first installment since the show's revival, was released on Hulu in August 2026. The series was a huge hit for the streamer, and making it Hulu and Disney+'s highest-rated adult animated show in the past five years.
King of the Hill's Hulu renaissance comes after Fox canceled the Mike Judge and Greg Daniels-created show back in 2009. The show, which premiered in 1997, ran for 13 seasons before getting axed by the network. The original run concluded with its final episodes airing in syndication in May 2010. It took 15 years and a lot of input from the fans before Hulu picked up the beloved animated series and brought it to the streamer, with the show earning an impressive following its season 14 premiere.
While that score has since fluctuated, according to an October 2026 report from , it was enough to keep King of the Hill around. And season 15 is just the tip of the iceberg, with King of the Hill set to be renewed for two more seasons — seasons 16 and 17 — which will consist of 20 episodes total. That means the show could run through to 2028, assuming one season is released every year.
The revival takes place almost a decade after the original King of the Hill series finale, and shows Hank and Peggy Hill as they make their way back to the fictional Arlen, Texas, after Hank's stint in Saudi Arabia. Faced with new challenges as they settle back into life stateside, the couple is forced to navigate the changes their hometown has undergone in their time away, including modern updates like ride-share apps and new social norms that throw Hank and Peggy for a loop.
Season 15, meanwhile, will pick up where the pair left off, with Hank and Peggy choosing to stay in Texas and settle into retirement life on Rainey Street, despite a potential move back to Saudi Arabia. The show also sees the couple reunite with their old buddies, including Dale, military barber Bill, Boomhauer, and Peggy's friends Minh and meteorologist Nancy. The Hills' son, Bobby, now a chef and restaurateur, is also very much in the picture, as he balances old friendships with longtime pals like Connie, with the stress of being an entrepreneur. King of the Hill's season 15 voice cast includes Mike Judge, Kathy Najimy, Pamela Adlon, Stephen Root, Lauren Tom, and Toby Huss.
All 14 seasons of King of the Hill are available to stream on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
