is stacked with great new streaming releases right now, and these three popular shows seem to be what everyone is watching this weekend, May 9–10, 2026. Between an 8-part crime thriller that just dropped its 2-part premiere, a stylish detective mystery thriller led by one of Hollywood's biggest stars, and a critically acclaimed comedy-horror series with a near-perfect Rotten Tomatoes score, Apple TV subscribers have a wealth of outstanding streaming options.
continues to hold the #1 spot on Apple TV with four episodes still to be released in its second season. Meanwhile, Elle Fanning's new comedy series, based on a best-selling book, Margo's Got Money Troubles, is also dominating global streaming charts, ranking in at #2 worldwide on the streamer this weekend. While those are strong and obvious options, these three series are also worth checking out this weekend on Apple TV.
Unconditional
Unconditional is a new crime thriller series that just premiered on Friday, May 8, on Apple TV with a 2-episode premiere. The series will consist of eight total episodes with the finale set for a mid-June release. Unconditional has been mostly overlooked by critics right out of the gate, but has already surged to Apple TV's #6 spot on its worldwide viewership chart, which is a strong testament to its budding global audience.
Unconditional follows a mother and daughter leaving for vacation at an airport, which quickly turns into a complete nightmare. The daughter, a 25-year-old named Gali, is arrested for drug smuggling in Moscow and taken into custody, much to the shock and dismay of the mother, Orna. Not only must Orna try to locate her daughter, but she must also fight to prove her innocence in a foreign place where she has very little support. As Orna digs deeper into Gali's situation, she finds herself entangled in a world of dangerous criminals.
Sugar
Colin Farrell shines as a bumbling Los Angeles-based detective in Sugar, a hard-boiled 8-part crime series that premiered back in April 2026. With season 2 arriving in June 2026, now is a great time to dive into Sugar for the first time or re-watch it ahead of its long-awaited return. Farell stars alongside Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Amy Ryan, Anna Gunn, and more A-list talent.
Sugar received mostly positive reviews and a score of 81%, consisting of eight snappy episodes, most of which are just over 30 minutes long, making it perfect for a quick weekend binge. The series was created by Mark Protosevich, best known for penning the screenplays for Oldboy, Thor, and I Am Legend. Farell plays a sleek private detective named John Sugar who is tasked with finding the missing granddaughter of a powerful Hollywood producer. For a good time, Sugar is a safe bet on Apple TV this weekend.
Widow's Bay
With a near-perfect score of 97% and an equally strong audience score of 94%, Widow's Bay remains our top recommendation to watch on Apple TV right now. Just three episodes in, set in a scenic New England island town that feels like it was ripped right out of a Stephen King novel. Matthew Rhys is magnetic as the charismatic mayor of the idyllic yet haunted coastal town in what is already shaping up to be one of his career-best roles.
