Gamers are counting down the days to 's release this November, and as the date draws nearer, many fans have been wondering when we'll start to see the official marketing campaign kick into full gear. It's been ages since the last trailer was released, and with summer fast-approaching, a seems imminent.

Unfortunately for a huge swath of gamers, trailers may be the only form of GTA 6 content they get their hands on for a while, with recent official confirmation that the PC release of GTA 6 is being intentionally delayed. That's according to a recent interview with Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, where he also revealed that fans can expect to see a marketing push in the coming months that will target their "core consumers" first and foremost (via ).

According to Zelnick, Grand Theft Auto 6 has a "core audience" of console gamers that take priority, and who he believes Take Two and Rockstar have to serve first before making the game available to PC gamers. He argues that "Rockstar always starts on console because I think, with regard to a release like that, you’re judged by serving the core."

Zelnick also used this opportunity to reveal that when it comes to the official marketing push for GTA 6, PlayStation is getting exclusivity. This means that, while GTA 6 will be released on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles at launch, any upcoming trailers or marketing campaigns will come via Sony and PlayStation.

Much of this likely isn't all that surprising news to long-time GTA fans, as console exclusivity and PlayStation marketing exclusivity have been Rockstar's approach for past releases as well. Still, while console gamers when it comes to the later this year, PC users who had their fingers crossed for good news just took a serious blow.

Notably, Zelnick insists that GTA 6's console release and PlayStation marketing exclusivity have nothing to do with the delay of the PC version, and that this is just the historical approach Rockstar has taken to their releases in general. While true to some extent, it doesn't soften the hit for PC gamers who will likely have to wait months before they get their hands on the highly anticipated game.
