Martin, is a masterpiece when it comes to storytelling, but in a world created from the ground up, there is only so much you can feature in a main story. Elden Ring: Distant Tales is an upcoming manga series based on the world of Elden Ring, and it is set to launch on 16 July 2026. Unveiled by Yen Press earlier this year, it will mark the first entry in a brand-new collection and will feature the adventures of some of our favorite characters from the hit RPG. Centering around some iconic characters such as Rya, Blackguard Big Boggart, and even Blaidd the Half-Wolf, Distant Tales' official synopsis reads as follows:

These are the tales of the other inhabitants of the Lands Between.

What if Roderika were to befriend the rest of the Roundtable Hold…? What if the Blackguard went in search of a new delicacy other than prawns…? What if one were to catch a glimpse of Rya's youth…?

Now, for the first time since Elden Ring: Distant Tales was announced, a sneak peek has been shared over on r/wholesomeanimemes, and it shows of a wholesome moment shared between Tanith and her daughter, Rya. Elden Ring players will already know what their fate will be, but in this moment, it merely shows a mother consoling her young daughter and shows no glimpse of the heartbreaking future both of them will inherit.

With one user commenting, "Damn, I hang around this subreddit, but this is the one that made me emotional for some reason, and I don't even play Elden Ring", it is safe to say that Elden Ring: Distant Tales will appeal to both fans of the RPG and those who are yet to experience its mastery, and luckily, it is set to launch as early as July 2026 with more volumes to follow.
