Fresh Insights and Exciting Leaks About Upcoming GTA 6

By Rachel Acosta

He graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's in Cinema & Media Arts. Writing serves as a much-needed distraction from tackling a backlog of Steam games that will never be surmounted. has been anticipated for years, and it's no surprise that plenty of information has leaked about the game over that time. Some of those leaks are no longer especially relevant, as the first two trailers for the game both confirmed some long-standing rumors and disproved others. Another portion of leaked info makes fantastical claims or comes from unreliable sources, meaning that it should be treated with a grain of salt or disregarded altogether.

Sift through all that detritus, though, and you'll still find a solid assortment of interesting leaks that actually seem reliable. Some of the most interesting GTA 6 leaks are actually likely to be true of the final game, and they might be building the hype just as much as Rockstar's official marketing material is.

The Soundtrack Features Some Returning Artists

It's not the biggest leak on the market, but one of the most reliable bits of information so far is the apparent confirmation of two . The electronic bands Panama and Neon Indian both shared that posted that their music would be included in GTA 6, although Panama deleted the relevant social media comment shortly after.

Both Panama and Neon Indian had music featured in GTA 5, so it's no surprise to see them return. Aside from Rockstar potentially changing the current soundtrack plans, there's little reason to doubt the veracity of this one, since the source is straight from the horse's mouth in both instances.

Loading Times Are Out The Door

Loading times for console games took a major leap with the PS5 and Xbox Series X, and it looks like GTA 6 might be taking advantage of that. featured the game switching between Lucia and Jason as playable characters, without the need for any loading in-between.

While this may not extend to instantaneous loading between totally different sections of the map, it suggests that the game may be able to eliminate load times entirely in certain contexts. Games like Spider-Man 2 have achieved similar feats on a large scale, which makes this GTA leak seem very promising.

NPC Dialogue Is On The Next Level

Leaks suggesting that GTA 6 will be immense in scope sometimes feel more like wish lists than reliable information, but they can sometimes have substance behind them. One rumor that's looking increasingly likely is the surplus of complex NPC dialogue, with multiple leaks suggesting that Rockstar has been recording than ever before.

This doesn't necessarily mean that complex conversations will be all over the place, but it does suggest that Leonida could avoid the classic open-world problem of overly repetitive NPC dialogue. As iconic as repeated phrases like "arrow to the knee" can be, it would be great to see Rockstar take immersion to the next level with NPC dialogue.

Taxis Are Out

GTA is always changing with the times, and it might finally be time for it to pivot away from one classic gameplay feature. Taxis have always been a staple mode of transportation, but as rideshare apps have taken prevalence in the real world, GTA 6 may also sideline taxis in favor of the gig economy.

In 2026, Take-Two Interactive apparently registered the domain name "rydeme.app," which sounds an awful lot like a fictional alternative to Uber and Lyft. The name feels like the perfect level of Rockstar-style satire, so I'd be very surprised to see this one not end up panning out in-game.

A Basketball Minigame Joins The Fray

While no one has seen any footage of a basketball minigame in GTA 6, whether from leaks or official trailers, leaks have previously suggested that Rockstar is including one in the game. Later on, Rockstar showed a basketball game in the back of an official screenshot, which certainly doesn't hurt the theory.

At any rate, new minigames seem like an obvious direction for GTA 6, so the basketball rumor is entirely believable. Hopefully, it could end up being a robust system that players will want to sink some time into, especially if it incorporates some tech from the NBA 2K games, which are also handled by GTA publisher Take-Two Interactive.

GTA 6's Story Will Be Shorter Than RDR2

One GTA 6 leaker with some legitimacy is , as some of their reported details were ultimately backed up by the second trailer for the game. If all of their information ends up being accurate, it could reveal some other interesting tidbits about the game.

LegacyKillaHD provided some speculative details on the length of GTA 6, suggesting that the main story isn't as long as Red Dead Redemption 2, but there's a ton of side content. This tracks with other leaks suggesting that it will feature five chapters in total, falling short of RDR2's five main chapters and two epilogue chapters.

A Relationship Bar Is Here

Red Dead Redemption 2 Honor System

has been one of the most prominent figures in the GTA 6 leak community, and a lot of the details they've shared seem like logical steps for GTA 6 to take. While GameRoll suggests that there's no proof for plenty of the info they've shared, the source behind was apparently correct about the last names for Jason and Lucia, suggesting some level of legitimacy.

One interesting highlight here is the idea of a relationship bar, which first showed up in 2026 leaks of the game. Allegedly, this functions in a similar manner to Red Dead Redemption 2's honor system, potentially incentivizing players to do more than just cause chaos and sow discord in the world of GTA.

Special Abilities Are Back

One detail that has recurred throughout a number of GTA 6 leaks is the existence of special character abilities, similar to what GTA 5 did with Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. Jason, for example, appears to have an eagle eye ability that helps him spot stuff in his environment, similar to the concept in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Lucia, meanwhile, may have some talent in hacking instead. Both of these abilities seem well within the scope of the game, so with multiple references in leaks so far from various sources, it seems like one of the most predictable rumors out there.

GTA 6 Features Several RDR Mechanics

The Eagle Eye ability and relationship bar both suggest that Red Dead Redemption 2 will have plenty of influence on GTA 6, and they might just be the tip of the iceberg. Other bits from the game's oldest leaks also line up with RDR mechanics, so unless some of them have been removed since, RDR fans should have a lot to look forward to here.

Reddit user rounded some up in a recent post, mentioning hip fire, lootable dead bodies, and limited inventory as familiar features. Fred_erick_ notes that "some people are gonna blow a gasket" over the inventory system but establishes that they're personally in favor of the idea.

The 6-Star Wanted Level Returns

While GTA 5 featured plenty of mechanical improvements from previous titles, the Wanted system simplified things slightly. Unlike previous games that went up to a six-star maximum, GTA 5 cut things off at 5-stars, leaving a military response out of the equation unless players are near the actual military base.

GTA 6, however, has been rumored to feature the return of a six-star Wanted system. It's not a hard rumor to believe, as it would be a reasonably simple way to make some long-time fans happy.

Ultimately, there's no way to prove any current Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks beyond the shadow of a doubt, but a lot seem like reasonable expectations for the finished product.
