Xbox Game Pass Users Are Loving The Latest Freebie
The game in question is Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, and although this isn't the first time the game has come to Xbox Game Pass, the timing is pretty much perfect. The ninth entry in the long-running horror franchise, Resident Evil Requiem, released last month. Just be warned — RE7 is pretty scary.
"I wanna play it, but man, it's so scary," wrote one user in the Reddit thread.
"I can't handle this game. Quit after about 2 hours," wrote another.
And it looks like most people agree the game gets less scary once you get your gun (around the 2-hour mark, depending on how you play). That may be small comfort, though. I've played RE7 and can say it's definitely one of the scarier entries in the series. The first-person definitely helps with immersion, but it also amps up the terror factor.
Resident Evil 7 Is A Top-Tier Resident Evil
If you're not a fan of horror games, then you may want to sit this one out. It can get really intense. As several people on Reddit noted, it's even more terrifying in VR. If you are a fan of horror games, however, and haven't checked out Resident Evil 7: Biohazard yet, then this is a great time to do so.

From the Baker family dinner scene early in the game to running through the Salt Mines, there are some truly memorable moments that I don't want to spoil here. Suffice it to say, plenty of people are recommending RE7 because it is indeed awesome.
If you have an Xbox Game Pass subscription, then be sure to give this one a try. And if you have played it before, I replayed it recently, and it still holds up in 2026. Honestly, it's only slightly less scary going through it a second time.
