is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, and over the years we really have enjoyed some amazing games that are well worth celebrating at times like this. That said, one thing we do know about that's coming down the pipeline relatively imminently is , and with the limited amount we have seen so far, it could be one of the best Nintendo cinematic releases ever. Over on Twitter/X, the official Nintendo shared an update from Nintendo director and all-round legend Shigeru Miyamoto, confirming that the Zelda movie is on the way a little sooner than we all expected.

"This is Miyamoto. We have decided to change the worldwide theatrical release date of the live-action film 'The Legend of Zelda' from May 7, 2027 to April 30, 2027. "Early release. I'm so happy to be able to see Hyrule even a little sooner," another .

A third was even more complimentary, saying, "It's not a delay but "pulling it forward," which is so rare it kinda moves me a little lol. What the movie is actually going to be about is another question entirely, with most believing that could serve as the foundation of the story itself.
